NYC Bridges, or S/V Sarah Does The East River

From City Island we motored through the East River. I felt it imperative to document every bridge we passed under. It is a pretty special experience to travel down the East River at a forced 7mph, free from traffic, or the constant pressing of humanity found on the NYC streets.

#1 (Above and below) Throgs Neck Bridge

#2 (Above and below) Bronx Whitestone Bridge

#3 (Above and below) Railway bridge marks the entrance to Hells Gate

#4 Robert F. Kennedy Bridge. Hell's Gate is known for its confused water and harsh currents. We had a comfortable 2 knots working with us and only 1 barge to contend with.
Caroline! Oh hi there, pretty lady! Thanks for the send off!
#5 (Above and below) Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge

 #6 Williamsburg Bridge
#7 (Above and below) Manhattan Bridge

#8 (Above and below) Brooklyn Bridge

#9 Verrazano Narrows Bridge
