St. Thomas turned out to be a major hub for yacht transporters. Owners will load their sailboat or powerboat onto a big ship and the ship with take it anywhere in the world. The transporter in the picture below is bound for Europe. It definitely opens up a lot of opportunities for boat owners wanting to travel the world, but some cruisers we talked to felt it was cheating. I would have to agree with them, the journey to get to your destination is the most exciting part of the trip.
